Privacy Policy — JM Photo Last updated: 12/06/2026

Who I am. JM Photo is the trading name of Jonathan Magalong, a photographer based in Leeds, West Yorkshire, United Kingdom. I am the data controller for the personal information collected through this website. You can contact me about anything in this policy at [your email address].

What information I collect. When you use the enquiry or booking forms on this site, I collect the details you provide — typically your name, email address, phone number, and information about your wedding or event (such as the date, venue and what you're looking for). The site also collects limited technical information automatically through cookies, such as pages visited and general location — see the Cookie Policy for details.

Why I collect it and my lawful basis. I use your information to respond to your enquiry and check availability (legitimate interests); to prepare and carry out a photography booking with you (performance of a contract); to keep basic business and accounting records (legal obligation); and, only if you've opted in, to send occasional updates or offers (consent — you can withdraw it at any time by unsubscribing or emailing me).

Who I share it with. I don't sell your information. It is processed by the service providers that run this site and my business: Squarespace (website hosting, forms and scheduling), [your email provider, e.g. Google Workspace], [your gallery delivery service, e.g. Pic-Time/Pixieset — delete if not yet using], and [accounting software — delete if not applicable]. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, transfers are protected by recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy decisions.

How long I keep it. Enquiry details that don't lead to a booking are deleted within [12] months. Client booking information is kept for [6 years] after the contract ends, in line with tax and legal record-keeping requirements.

Your rights. Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data I hold about you, correct it, ask for it to be deleted, restrict or object to how it's used, and receive a copy in a portable format. To exercise any of these, email me at [your email address]. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how I've handled your data.

Photographs. This policy covers personal data collected through this website. How wedding and event photographs are used (for example in my portfolio) is agreed separately in your photography contract.

Changes. If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new date.
